How Tales Unleashed came about.....

Even as a kid I liked reading short stories...stories about almost anything.
But I especially liked the stories of the scary and chilling kind...I loved
watching movies penned by Alfred Hitchcock and Rod Serling.  To me,
Serling was the master. His Twilight Zone and Night Gallery series were
both remarkable... he was way ahead of his time.

I wrote a few stories as a kid, but didn't get serious about it until I got
a bit older. And after Undertakings was released, I thought this is the
perfect time to publish a short story book.

The stories in Tales Unleashed just 'came to me' if you will....I'd be
driving around a country road, visiting an old cemetery...looking at
antiques at a road side stand...then suddenly... I thought now this or
that would make for an interesting story, and that's how most of them
came to be.

There are a few cemetery related stories in Unleashed...a couple about
kids at a drive in movie, some stories of going back in time, and another
of being cast into the future..a weeping pumpkin, a boy who makes
a discovery of an old car in the woods, a marble that might possess some
kind of power, a youngster frightened by something she saw while
ice skating....and even a UFO story, sorry, no big foots in this one.

So I think you'll really enjoy Tales Unleashed. I should physically have
books in hand very very soon, and it will then be posted on Amazon
etc.

Thanks for your continued loyalty and your following my  blog
and my writing.... and for you western fans: I continue the work this
year on my western novel, based in Tucson in 1865....we'll tease that
one a bit as time goes by here.

Take good care my friends..and come back soon. SS

The house upon the hill...

Beatrice McGee was a strange old lady indeed.....living pretty

much as a recluse in the house upon the hill. It was rumored by

many in her small town that she wasn't just strange, she was

down right crazy.

That house would prove to be very inviting to two youngsters

who decided to investigate Beatrice and her old run down house.

It would become an evening the young lads would never forget....

a story they could pass on to their youngsters one day sometime

in the future.

The house upon the hill.... the second short story in Tales

Unleashed...coming within two to three weeks.... be

ready for it!

4th anniversary......

It's hard to believe it's been four years since publication of

Undertakings of an Undertaker, true stories of being laid to rest.

January 23rd, 2015 was the official release of the book... and it's

been a whirlwind ever since. It' been awesome. New friends,

old friends, mail and orders from several countries.  And

it's still available if you haven't grabbed a copy.

I think a lot about Undertakings, and the stories it contains,

the people, the places, the circumstances. Everything

encapsulated in time as it were, like everything we do each

and every day.

And very soon, with the release of Tales Unleashed, I expect

again that same 'rush' of excitement as I present the new

read to a lot of great people everywhere. The publisher keeps

telling me soon.... so I'll keep my fingers crossed, well, maybe

on both hands!  Talk with you soon. SS
